Latino Graduate Student Meet-Ups
Our Latino Graduate Student Meet-Ups were created to bring together Latino graduate students pursuing careers in mental health for an evening of connection, conversation, and community. Hosted at the beginning of the academic year, these gatherings provide an opportunity for students to connect with fellow graduate students, share their experiences as they begin a new semester, and build meaningful relationships with others navigating similar educational and professional pathways.
As part of these gatherings, LTP invites Latino licensed mental health professionals to join students for dinner and open conversations. These special guests share their personal and professional journeys, offer advice, answer questions, and provide insight into navigating graduate school, clinical training, licensure, and the transition into the mental health workforce.
Beyond networking and career guidance, these meet-ups are also about reminding students that they are not alone in their journey. By providing dinner and creating a welcoming, informal environment, we hope to offer a space where students feel celebrated, encouraged, and supported as they work toward their educational and professional goals.
Through this initiative, LTP continues to build relationships with the next generation of Latino mental health professionals, reminding students that we are cheering them on and are here as a resource throughout their journey.
As we look toward the future, we hope to expand these gatherings beyond the beginning of the academic year to also offer end-of-year meet-ups, creating additional opportunities for students to reflect on their accomplishments, celebrate their progress, and continue building community. With additional funding and partnerships, we hope to make these gatherings a more consistent source of connection and support throughout the academic year.

As our Latino Graduate Student Meet-Ups continue to grow, we hope to expand this initiative to provide additional opportunities for connection and support throughout the academic year.
While our gatherings have traditionally taken place at the beginning of the fall semester, our long-term vision is to also host end-of-year meet-ups where students can reconnect, reflect on their experiences, celebrate their accomplishments, and continue building relationships with fellow students and professionals.
With future funding and community partnerships, we hope to make these gatherings a continued source of encouragement, mentorship, and belonging for Latino graduate students across Colorado.
At LTP, we believe that supporting the next generation of mental health professionals means being present throughout their journey, celebrating their milestones, and reminding them that they have a community behind them every step of the way.
